Innisfail Hospital has benefited greatly from the post Cyclone Larry rebuild of Innisfail, it has become one of the best support, best equipped local hospitals in the region, with most things being able to be done on-site.The staff are professional in every respect and are very capable of handling most anything that has been thrown at them.Anyone that Innisfail cannot handle is shipped to either Cairns or to Townsville Hospitals but that does not seem to happen all that much nowadays.Innisfail Hospital is one of the reasons that we moved to the area as it was a much better hospital than the one where we used to live. Really dead slow service, i been there today my wife was sick , today 18 feb 2018 sunday all other private doctors were close so we been Innisfail hospital to see doctor they just seen my wife to ask few questions to fill up the form and told us to be seated when the doctor will available they will call us after that we wait 2hr 15min but no one respond then we go back to the nurse and we asked how long more we need to wait then they said they dont knw how long cz doctor is not available when He/she will be available they will call us , we wait more 20 min then we let them knw that we are leaving cz its too much now we cant wait any more and the nurse answered OKIE IF YOU WANT YOU CAN LEAVE but if u feel sick come back. I dont think so we will go back there to waist our time. Because they have no feelings They are there to save the lifes not to waste the time of patient.
We're passing through Innisfail & need a GP, but there aren't any appointments available for 2 weeks! It was suggested that locals use the hospital's services for general health concerns, so off we went to Innisfail Hospital. The staff were truly wonderful & the wait time wasn't as bad as other hospitals.
